Happily Ever After: A Wedding to Remember
For all the wrong reasons the Miller/Todd Wedding turned into a wedding the bride and groom will never forget. We remember our wedding for how lucky we were to have such beautiful weather for our outdoor ceremony and reception. Robert's sister Katherine and her husband Jeff, however, will remember their indoor wedding ceremony for the weather that happened the day before. It sounds backwards but it's true. A very bad storm passed through Houston the night before the wedding leaving behind reports of tornadoes and patches of Houston without electricity. Included in one of those patches was Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, the venue for the ceremony. The ceremony scheduled for 7.30pm and 300+ guests went ahead with what sunlight remained inside the church around 6.00pm with no more than 30 guests. But the sun shining through the stained glass of the church added a romance to the ceremony that otherwise would have been lost. Katherine and Jeff looked amazing and the church was absolutely brilliant in twilight. It was a beautiful way to put an end to the terrible feelings the bride and groom faced when the entire wedding and all of the planning came under threat. The faultless reception was a time to let loose and give the guests who missed the wedding some time with the bride and groom.
